Another Valentine for Sofia

Sofia received her second Valentine from cousin Grace - a very cute outfit with matching bib (we go through those like you would not believe), a toy, some chocolates (for mommy - thank you Daniela!) and a card. While she enjoyed everything (went through the bag and pulled everything out with a smile) she could not stop playing with the card! Grazie Grace!

Let's see what I can get into now...

She's only been crawling for a couple days and she's already attempted getting onto the bookshelf and into the magazine basket and ventured out into the dining room. Ready or the not the house is getting baby-proofed!

License to crawl

I think she's just showing off now.

UPDATE - Nathan has is very own blog!

Wow, only a couple days old and Nathan Elliott has his own blog - his mommy and daddy are on top of things! We are so happy that everyone is doing better and are looking forward to play dates!

FINALLY!

We never thought this day would come, but tonight is (at last) the 2 hour premiere of Lost. Thank goodness for DVR and the ability to fast forward through the commercials to get to the real juice. Unfortunately, Sofia will be sleeping (hopefully) so she will not be able to take in the sheer excitement and giddiness of her mom and dad.

Are they really going home?

Library of Congress on Flickr

Ok, so this doesn't have much to do with Sofia or Anthony, but I came across some very cool information this morning. Wise Bread, a frugal and finance blog that we read daily, posted that The Library of Congress released copyright free pictures on Flickr!

While playing with Sofia this morning I managed to check out a few tags and found a couple favorites that I had to share. Scott and Antonio - I thought you would enjoy going to Flickr's site and checking this out.

On the move...

Sofia turned 10 months today and to mark the occasion she decided to start crawling! YAY!!! A whole new can of worms...out come the outlet covers and thingies that stop drawers and doors from being opened and away go the knick knacks that could wind up in her mouth. We're already noticing that she does things on her own schedule since this past weekend she was doing the rocking back and forth on hands and knees and that progressed into a full-blown crawl yesterday afternoon.

It came out a little dark for the blog, but you can still see the princess crawling to one of her favorite toys!!!

Nathan Elliott Wolf

Sofia's newest friend arrived very early this morning a few days before his actual due date. Congratulations and hugs to Molly and Jon on their healthy baby boy, Nathan Elliott! Everyone is doing well and Anthony, Sofia & I can not wait to meet him! As soon as their are pictures on their blog, I will be sure to link to them so we can see the cuteness!!!

Sofia a.k.a. Elvis

We obviously have way too much fun at our daughter's expense, but she doesn't seem to mind it...yet.

Brunch with Nonno Mario and Nonna Maria

We had brunch today with Nonno Mario and Nonna Maria and they loved getting to spend a few hours with the princess. She was so good and loved playing with them!

Sofia's First Valentine

Sofia received her very first valentine card in today's mail from Zio Antonio. Who says kids need all these toys since a simple card brought her sheer enjoyment for about 30 minutes?! Grazie Zio Antonio!!

Honestly, how cute is this face?!?

Ocean and Sofia's playdate

Miss Ocean came for a visit today! She just turned 4 months old and is getting so big and more beautiful each time we see her.

Sofia loved having her there although when I held Ocean, she did give me a little look as if asking what I was doing! I think Sofia's getting used to hogging all the attention.

Ocean is another baby girl that's going to be bi-lingual...Ocean's dad is speaking only Chinese to her. It would be great that when the girls get older they will learn one another's language and be tri-lingual.

Wanting to grab her mommy's banana bread

All ready for bed...

After a fun bath, a full bottle and being read to, Miss Sofia was ready for bedtime. Lately her favorite bedtime book has been "Goodnight Moon" and once we've reached the last page she will turn back to the beginning for you to read all over again. This evening she did it 6 times before I decided to call it quits.

It doesn't look like it from the pictures, but she really was getting tired!

Babies, Book and Blueberries

Yesterday we started back at Babies and Books at the Havertown Library and Sofia was so happy to be back there! The story time is now broken down into 2 separate age groups making the size of the group a bit smaller, but it's still fun to sit around with the other parents and their children while they sing and dance and get stories read to them. Sofia likes to be up on her feet for the majority of the time so she can dance!

And yesterday also marks the day Sofia first had blueberries and aside from chewing one little one for what seemed like an hour, she liked them a lot!

Future Book Club Member

Mommy and Daddy are so proud how much she enjoys her books! She plays really well with the toys that we have out now, but ultimately goes back to her books and loves flipping the pages back and forth while "talking" to the pages. We read to her ALL the time and it seems like when she's gabbing with her books, that she's reading it to us!

Dammi un bacino

Ready to party!

Getting ready to leave for the last of the Christmas parties of the 2007 season at the Macchia's. Sofia, as usual, had a great time and loved the extra attention!

Morning baby

Sofia definitely has the best of both worlds at this stage in her life...she is a morning person like her momma and can even be a night owl (and in a good mood still) like her daddy. This is her after a good night's rest...

Don't you wish we all had that kind of energy 24/7?!?!

Nonna, look at all that snow

Sofia and I were back down at my parents for a couple days and while there we had a couple inches of snow. She was fascinated with the birds playing in the snow in my parent's backyard and touching the cold windows.

Looks who's going to Bonnaroo!

Zio Scott goes every year to the Bonnaroo Music Festival and I am sure one day Sofia would love to go with him!

Simon says...

Last night began American Idol's 7th season and where did the auditions kick off, but noneother than in Philadelphia! After getting home from working at La Locanda, Anthony and I settled in for what hopes to be a very entertaining few weeks of the best and worst of the tryouts. Anthony had mentioned that we might see someone we knew tryout but I doubted him not knowing of anyone with an interest in the show. Good thing we didn't place a bet on it because a sister of a high school friend of his was on...she unfortunately did not get through, but she did make it to the round that they showed on air.

Too much tv though since Project Runway is still on and then in just 2 short weeks Lost will be starting up again too - I AM SO EXCITED! I'm not used to all this tv, but thank goodness for Tivo!

La Prima Pastina

Pastina is the best! My brothers and I grew up on pastina and it was one of our first table foods as babies and even now as an adult, I love eating it with different sauces and soups. Sofia has joined the club and had pastina for the very first time this past weekend with Nonna Lisa's delicious sauce and she loved it - ate every last drop!

Giving out kisses

Sofia is starting to play with her toys a ton more and it's the cutest thing to see. Yes, I know everything is the cutest thing to see, but this is the NEWEST cutest thing to see with her. She plays well on her own, but then will turn around to make sure either Anthony or I are there and paying attention to her. As if she's suddenly going to run out, grab my purse and hit the mall!
