The BEST Chocolate Chip Cookies
I love this recipe and I love changing it up a bit each time.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 heaping tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 8 Tbsp (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 2 cups packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
Directions
Set oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place the flour, baking soda, and salt together in a medium bowl. Whisk together.
- Place the butter and sugar in a large bowl. Using a hand mixer, beat on medium-high speed until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time and beat until blended. Add the vanilla and beat again until blended.
- Add the flour mixture a little at a time and mix on medium speed just until the flour is incorporated. I use a wooden spoon at this point and add the chocolate chips and stir until combined.
- Drop the dough by large spoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake until lightly browned on top, 10 to 11 minutes depending on the size of your cookie mounds. Cool on the pan for a couple minutes and then move cookies to a baking rack.
- Buon Appetito!
* I change this recipe up each time. Sometimes I add more or less vanilla and sometimes I'll vary the sugar using both white and brown sugar to equal to the 2 cups sugar. I also vary the type of chips I use from mini chocolate chips to semisweet chocolate chips to dark chocolate chips. AND sometimes I mix the chips up too adding mini chips with dark chocolate chips. Options are good in my book.
