La Befana visits the Palumbi's

The holiday of La Befana falls on January 6th also known as the Feast of the Epiphany and my family has always celebrated this day. We always waited until after this day to put our decorations and stockings away and even though we always received an abundance of gifts on Christmas morning, we did always get one more gift on this day as well.

The story goes that La Befana, who is an old lady, rides around on her broomstick in search of baby Jesus to give him gifts. Alas, she does not find Him, but gives out toys and candy to the good children and lumps of coal to the bad children. It's a very cute story and one that I hope Anthony and I continue with Sofia.
