Reading

Well, Sofia was "reading" while Olivia tried grabbing her book away from her. Sofia just said "Olivia, read your book!"

Happy Thanksgiving!

So many big and small things to be thankful for each day, but especially on this day of thanks.

I am thankful for my love, I really couldn't ask for a more supportive husband and loving father. I am thankful for my beautiful, healthy and happy girls. I am thankful for our families, near or far we know we are truly loved. I am thankful for our friends that make our lives all the more special.

I am also thankful for the little things in my life that always makes me smile...nap time and chocolate (they go hand in hand in our house), chamomile tea, The Office, when I get the chance to read (something other than Dr. Seuss books), a good hair day, dancing in the kitchen with our girls, the sound of Sofia's feet scampering around the house, the way Olivia grabs my hand when I'm holding her and the nights my husband cooks dinner.

A very happy and healthy thanksgiving to everyone!

look through the window

I love to try to get the girls in the fresh air for a little bit every day, but sometimes it's just not going to happen. Either the cold, wet weather is keeping us in or an awful runny nose that Sofia has had all weekend. Either way, the room we spend the most time in on the first floor gets a lot of great, natural light and Sofia loves to look outside and tell me about everything she sees.

What's funny is that even though we're just feet from our neighbor's house and there really isn't all that much to see in my opinion, Sofia sees a lot. She gets excited by the squirrels running around outside, the occasional bunny and leaves falling. She will comment on everything that is going on from a bug she can see flying around or the rain and the big puddles it's making in the grass. My super-observant daughter makes me feel better about the days that I can't get them outdoors. She reminds me that there is still plenty for her to take in and talk about from our very window.

It's finally here...

New Moon in theatres that is! I'm off to see it in the morning with my sister-in-law and to say that I'm excited is an understatement. Truthfully, it was my least favorite of the books being that I am a huge fan of Edward, but I still can't wait to see it! I've heard from those that have seen it already that it might make me join the Team Jacob bandwagon...doubtful, but we'll see!

my girls

They really are just too cute for words. To say Olivia loves Sofia is a complete understatement. Whenever she sees her big sister, and I mean WHENEVER, Olivia gives her the biggest of smiles and can not take her eyes off of her. And my favorite is when Sofia is going up for her afternoon nap or to bed in the evening, she always gives Olivia a kiss on the head. Again, Olivia flashes a super big smile at her sister and it just melts my heart.

I'm totally soaking this up because who knows what's going to happen once Olivia is moving around and Sofia doesn't want to share her toys. Olivia may not be flashing those pretty little smiles as often at her big sister!

Lights, Camera....Olivia!

In honor of Olivia turning 6 months on Sunday, we had a little photo shoot at the house for her. Sofia provided all the entertainment we needed even though Daddy did a very good job too...making sure favorite toys were nearby in the event of a meltdown. She was so patient with me and actually calm as a cucumber the entire time.

Here are some of my favorite from the bunch that I took. Enjoy!

where are my lips?

6 Months Old

My baby girl is 6 months old today. It's just incredible that 6 months ago this morning we were at the hospital, sitting in the pre-op room getting ready to meet this perfect little baby. Now, here she is squealing when we dance with her, smiling at her big sister running around and filling our hearts with more love than we ever thought possible.

Happy 6 months Olivia!

Lori comes to visit

My friend Lori was in town this past week from San Francisco and stopped by for a little play date with her son, John Lucas. I saw them last in July for John's 1st birthday party and he had grown so much since then. It was great to see them and adorable seeing him play with the girls. Well, play with Sofia since Olivia just sits back and watches the free entertainment!

Love those curls!

Olivia's Laundry Service

In the first picture she doesn't know what to make of all the clothes and in the second picture she's having some fun. Little does she know that once she gets older, she will be helping her big sister fold the clothes.

Apple Festival

On Saturday we met up with friends at the Peddler's Village Annual Apple Festival. We had a nice time walking around and taking in all the wonderful smells coming from the various apple vendors. Beautiful weather, good friends and fun atmosphere makes for a perfect fall outing!

a walk in the park

While in Maryland, my mom took us to a nearby park and Sofia had a fantastic time. Give the girl some room to walk or run and leaves, grass or flowers to pick and she's happy. AND there was a playground too! Nonna Lisa sure knows how to keep Sofia happy! Olivia slept the entire time there in the carrier, but when she gets older it will be so much fun to see the two of them running around together.

Special time with Nonna and Nonno

The girls and I went down to Maryland for a couple days this past week and the girls really enjoyed themselves. It's not like we did anything crazy either...playing around the house with Nonno Nicki and Zio Antonio, eating favorite meals home-cooked by Nonna Lisa and walks in the cool fresh air. Just goes to show you that you don't have to do too much to entertain my little girls. Snuggling and reading to them work just fine too!
