A walk through the gardens

Friday found us in Hamilton, New Jersey at the Grounds for Sculpture. Zia Paola and Simon joined us on our adventure and all had a great time. Lots to see and the weather worked in our favor since there was a bit of walking to do.

Lots of interesting sculptures to take in and of course Sofia brought her camera too to snap up some pictures. Like mother, like daughter.

Over-sized and interestingly-shaped balloons in one of the indoor galleries.

Olivia was not a fan of the noise in there. Obviously. Thankfully she brought Toby along to help cover her ears.

Love these shots. Little hands holding on tight.

Cugini! How cute are they? They all talked up a storm of what we saw and enjoyed having the space to explore. The three of them had a great time together!

This might have been their favorite piece. Large pieces of metal nailed to wood and metal drumsticks left out to make some noise. Needless to say, we spent a good bit of time at this one.

Oh look. They're great for drawing in the sand too!

Really pretty spots all throughout the gardens.

Ciao Mr. Peacock.

Little photog Sofia hard at work.

Little posers.

Fun day out with the cousins!

Yes, that is a sculpture of empty water bottles behind us. They took recycling to a whole new level.

Chocolate and Sprinkle covered Marshmallows

I made these sweet little treats this morning with the girls. Easy and fun. Two of my favorite words.

What to do:

1. Melt chocolate in microwave-safe bowl, 15 second increments stirring in between so as not to burn the chocolate.
2. Stick marshmallow with lollipop stick or you could use straws too. Or you could just not use anything as well.
3. Dip marshmallow into chocolate. I just dipped the ends.
4. Twirl around in a bowl full of sprinkles.
Finito!

My 365 Project - 101

Happy Memorial Day!

Olivia was too tuckered out to play anymore this afternoon at Nonno Mario's house after a very busy and fun-filled weekend. She fell asleep sitting up coloring, which is what I should have taken a picture of. But I think this set is without a doubt cute too.

I made it to 100 posts toward my 365 project! Woohoo!

One awesome picture from our adventure today to Grounds for Sculpture. The cousins really enjoyed themselves and the mommas did too. More pictures to come!

Goodbye Preschool!

Goodbye to Sofia's preschool! She loves her teachers so much she wanted them to go with her to Kindergarten too!

Last morning of preschool for Sofia

Today marked a pretty big day for us, Sofia's last day of preschool. I can not believe that two years went that fast and she really did enjoy every minute. Thankful for wonderful teachers and the great friends she made  - and I made too!

Get ready Kindergarten - here comes Sofia Vincenza!

My 365 Project - 98

My little 3-year-old, reading a book in the quiet of the afternoon sun. Love that little face so much. Even if she totally drives me crazy sometimes.

Field trip to the petting farm

Sofia had her last preschool field trip this week to a petting farm nearby. We've been to petting zoos before and while Sofia likes to feed the animals, she isn't a fan of picking them up or getting too close to them for that matter either. But she was excited to go and I was excited to be able to go with her and her schoolmates.

Bunnies, pot-bellied pigs and goats! Oh my! Sofia did a decent job of getting close enough to the pony to brush him and fed the goats their hay and bunnies their carrots with no problem. She loves horses - books about horses anyway - but there was no way I could get her to take a pony ride. She's going to have to really warm up to that idea on her own I think.

Her teachers were great about being involved with the kids and showing them there was nothing to be afraid of, but still no pony ride for Sofia.

Seriously, how cute is this little guy? By the time we left, I think all the bunnies had had their fill of carrots AND little preschoolers holding them.

Time for a little hayride around the farm. Not enough room for all the parents though. Oh well.

I can't get over how long Sofia's hair is getting. Which means the time to cut and donate is almost here!!!

Sweet little 5-year-olds. The same girls from her class last year together one last time on a field trip before the end of the year.

Sofia looks like she's ready to go and my hair is beyond frizzing out from the incredible humidity. Definitely time to go home but glad I was able to get at least one picture of my little girl and I on the field trip.
