Hope Hills Lavender Farm

Our first stop on our RV trip was Hope Hills Lavender Farm in Schuylkill County.  Such beautiful countryside and the farm was so breathtaking. Literally on a hill overlooking the valley below, which was the home of a sunflower field too. I was a bundle of smiles at this place.

Of course, we ventured into the shop and bought some items along with trying Lavender Honey ice cream which was delicious. So light and refreshing. In addition to tasty ice cream, the shop was well stocked with soaps, dried lavender, sachets and so much more. There is a lot you can do with lavender.

A perfect spot, especially for our first stop on our RV trip. We were able to be outdoors, visit a new place and help support a family owned farm.

RVing

We took our first ever RV Family road trip just recently and to say I was a little anxious about this adventure is a major understatement. It was so much fun! Lots of research ahead of time and I quite honestly packed everything BUT the kitchen sink but it was worth it to have some staples from home for our comfort. It was fun to drive around and see some really cool spots, adventurous to set up camp and cook in the tiny galley kitchen and the kids had fun sleeping in the RV at night. And campfire s'mores before bed always help too.

More photos to come from our trip!

Trip down memory lane...

Well, here it is. I told myself I wasn't going to do it but I decided to go ahead and pull at my heartstrings anyway. Italy. Our annual summer trip was cancelled this year, as were the plans and events of millions all over the world. Something we have done for many years and due to the pandemic couldn't be fulfilled this summer. There are worse things and I'm beyond thankful for all the memories made in the past. So fortunate really.

Today marks the first day of the festival. THE festival. La Festa della Madonna del Carmine. Plenty of links on this blog to follow in the journey through this special holiday in Mesagne. July 15, 16 and 17 full of festivities that include processions, music, lights, food, carnival rides and the whole town dressed up for these special days. A few days of complete happiness and merriment in town. Not there in body this year, but there in mind and spirit.

Looking through these made me happy.
