Olivia's Baptism Reception

More pictures from Olivia's Baptism! We had her reception at my in-law's restaurant, La Locanda and everything was just perfect. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was fun and we were able to spend some time with each of our 65 guests. We really couldn't have asked for a better day for our baby girl!

Olivia's Baptism

Yesterday we celebrated Olivia's Baptism and it truly was an incredible day. We were surrounded by family and friends all day long and we are genuinely honored to have had them all there.

It all started out the night before when BOTH girls slept wonderfully - hooray for a good night's sleep before a big day! Olivia slept through most of the day, like the good little 6-week-old that she is and didn't so much as stir when passed from one person to the next.

My dad performed the ceremony at our church and did a fantastic job - he has now baptized both of his grand-daughters! Anthony and I chose two godmothers for Olivia, my cousin Daniela who is the closest thing I have to a sister and my good friend Katie, one of my first friends as a child. We chose one of Anthony's closest friends, Jay, as the godfather who was also the best man in our wedding. Many of our close friends and family were able to attend the ceremony and we couldn't have asked for a better group to witness our second child's first sacrament into the church.

Here are just a few pictures from the ceremony:

Mmmmm, mmmm soup!

Obviously, we need to crack down on the table manners

Big sister, little sister

We think Sofia is starting to get used to having Olivia around because she likes to check in on her every once in awhile. Sometimes in the morning while Sofia and I are eating breakfast she will ask "Where Olivia?" And when Olivia is crying she always states "Olivia crying now." My favorite is when we hear Olivia pass some gas and Sofia will jump and tell me "Change Olivia diaper." It's nice to see her so concerned with the little one!

Happy Belated Father's Day

Olivia has found a comfy spot to nap

We were down at my parent's for Anthony's third Father's Day and had a great time. He went camping for the night with my brothers and my dad and despite some rain, had a lot of fun. They managed to not get eaten alive by the mosquitoes or bears (which they did see a few). They are going to try and make a tradition of this annually now while the girls stay at home in the A/C and bug-less indoors! Maybe one day when the girls get older I will be brave enough to join in on the fun!

Chocolate - a way to a girl's heart

My mom came up for the night last week to help out with the kids. While she was here, her and Sofia made some delicious little sweets - melted rolo and pretzels! Yummy! A very simple treat to put together for anyone who loves a sweet/salty mix.

Rolo & Pretzels

Ingredients:

Rolo candies, unwrapped
Square pretzels

Directions:

1. Lay pretzels on a cookie sheet and place one rolo candy on top of each.
2. Bake in pre-heated oven (set at 200 degrees) for about 5 minutes.
3. Take out of oven and place another pretzel on top of each rolo candy and squish down.
4. Allow to cool and ENJOY!

Look Ma, no feet!

Sofia is loving that the warm weather has arrived and wants to be outdoors whenever possible. Luckily we have a nice side patio that is covered that we can still be outside even in the rain (which we have had some of off and on this past week). Even on the patio Sofia can have a ton of fun with her little stroller and rocking horse. There are times when I feel as if I'm going to have a heart attack because she gets going so fast on the rocking horse and the thing looks like it will tip her over. I know, I'm a bit of a worry wart - that's what happens when you have kids I guess!

Happy 4 weeks Olivia!

Can you believe 4 weeks have already come and gone?! And I thought time flew when it was just Sofia, it's really going by now that there's a newborn AND a toddler to look after.

Olivia had her 4 week well baby visit last night with the amazing Dr. Bullock and everything went great. She was awake the entire time for him, didn't make a peep and has even gained 2 lbs in the 3 weeks since she was last there! Woohoo! Of course, since I see her 24/7 I couldn't really tell that she's growing, so it was very nice for me to actually see the difference in her on the scale. Her next visit is at 8 weeks and I am sure we will be hearing a peep out of her since she will be receiving a shot! Poor baby!!!

Olivia visits Maryland

Olivia made her very first trip to Maryland and I am happy to report that she had fun. Who wouldn't have a good time with a Nonna, Nonno and Zios to constantly hold and snuggle with her? She did great in the 2 hour car ride there and back sleeping the whole way with no more than a peep out of her.

Antonio is finishing up his 8th grade year and that included his 8th grade dance which we were able to see him off to. He looked so cute all dressed up - I can't believe he's going to be in high school this coming fall. How old does that make me feel?!

Up close and personal with Sofia

Two weeks in to having a baby sister and so far, so good with Sofia. Most mornings she will come in the bedroom and give Olivia a kiss on the head and say "Buon Giorno!" Whenever Olivia is crying, Sofia seems concerned and tells Anthony or myself right away that "baby Olivia crying." While Olivia gets her diaper changed, Sofia likes to grab a new diaper for us and while she's not up yet for throwing it out for us, she supervises the whole process.

It's only going to get more interesting each day that they are together and we can't wait to see what each new experience brings for the girls!
