Yesterday we had the privilege to participate in the Brain Tumor Society Race for Hope in Philadelphia. The 5K race began at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and wound down East River Drive past Boat House Row and then turned to head back to the museum. There were about 5,000 participants that combined raised over $500,000 for the Brain Tumor Society.
We were part of a 140 person team put together by a high school friend of Anthony's in celebration of his father. Anthony, Sofia and I also participated in memory of my Nonna, Vincenza Gallo, who past away 10 years ago this past June from a brain tumor. Although it was a chilly morning, joining others in a very worthwhile and touching event warmed our bodies and kept our spirits high.
All set to go!
Walking to the Art Museum with a beautiful view of the city

Yay! We did it! Our walking time for the 5k was 1 hr and 10 min.!
