Provincia di Teramo, Abruzzo
We spent a morning in Teramo, one of the larger cities in the region of Abruzzo and about 15 minutes from Anthony's family's house. It's always a good stop for a stroll through their market, held on Saturdays, or a gelato at the many gelaterias in town. Anthony's cousin Gimmy met up with us and gave us a little tour of areas we hadn't explored so much in the past. The girls love Gimmy and had a great morning in the absolutely gorgeous weather. Stops to play, fresh breads and gelato are also good ways to make them smile and guarantee a good time.
Sofia is becoming quite the car, or should I say macchina, aficionado. Especially foreign cars. Small foreign cars. Which Italy has a lot of.
There is lots of art to take in in the city of Teramo. And not just indoors, but on the walls and in the piazzas.
Totally amazed by this baby lizard.
Musicians in the piazza
My little girls in the piazza. A little rest from walking to not sit, but run around the square.
A funny little side note. I do not drink out of water fountains in America. Yuck. Hopefully never will have to, it grosses me out. But when in Italy, especially in Abruzzo, you can drink freely from drinking water fountains and know that the water is clean and pure as it comes straight from the mountains. Which are literally all around this city.
Smart Car!
Beautiful apartments in Teramo overlooking another square.
See, I really was there!
