We were talking the other day and Sofia asks me "How do people who can't talk...talk?" Which I thought was a really interesting question for an almost 5-year-old. So, I explained to her that they learn a form of language called sign language. And then that got onto the topic of stop signs, railroad signs, restaurant signs, etc. When we slowly got back to her main question I showed her how to sign out I love you and she was so excited.
Now she likes to call out to me "mommy!" and when I turn to look at her she says "I can't talk" and then holds up her little sign.
