A lot to report from our home. November is officially over which means we broke out all the Christmas decorations over the weekend and we are 100% in the Christmas spirit mode. Decorating, baking and caroling...oh my!
But first we had to say good-bye to our little fish friend, Boogeypock. No, he didn't go back to the ocean to live with his family - which has happened several times for us unfortunately. But our friends were kind enough to trust us with fish-sitting while they were away for Thanksgiving and the girls were more than excited to have a "pet" even for a short while.
They checked on him occasionally and told him about their days. I think they were just trying to be super good because they really do want a fish pet even though I'm sure they would become 100% NOT interested the second we tell them it's for them to keep. At least with Boogeypock it was temporary so maybe that's why they gave pretty good attention.
Cute little face checking on the fish.
Advent calendar went up on the 1st and girls are excited each morning to 1. look for Bert, 2. open their chocolate Advent calendars and 3. ask to open our activity for the day on the hanging wall Advent calendar.
I did this same one last year, so I had everything already and just needed to change up our daily activities to coincide with this month's calendar. I kept some of the same things on their just switched the days up and then I added some new fun stuff. So far, the girls are loving the activities and honestly, while it just adds something else to my day, it's fun to do with them.
Some of my favorite from this year's Advent calendar:
Silly Santa Hat Pictures
Hot chocolate tea party
Bake cookies for a friend
Dress up for a Christmas Party
Buy/Make presents for our teachers
Paint our toenails RED - Anthony may or may not join in on this one.
Tree is up, house is decorated and Christmas songs are on almost all day long. I love them, but need a a break every once in awhile.
A favorite ornament from our 1st Christmas together, courtesy of my sister-in-law Chaela.
Snug as bugs in their Christmas pjs! Is it bad that I ordered a size up last year and they got to wear the same ones 2 years in a row?! They're the sweetest little plaid sets and just love them on my girls. Seriously, these two? Love those little faces so much. Here they're reading through the stack of 147 Christmas books that we've collected over the years.
All this running around, decorating, baking and singing gets a girl sleepy every once in awhile!
