Bon Bini - Welcome to Aruba!

Well, it's been a couple days since we've returned from our long weekend in Aruba, but it's never too late to post some of my favorite pictures of our trip. Anthony and I had a fantastic time and really can not say enough wonderful things about Aruba. Aside from a few new hotels and restaurants and a new shopping square, the island looks almost as it did 5 years ago...which to me is perfect. The temperature was in the mid-80s with a perfect sunny sky each day and that light breeze that makes walking around in the middle of the day bearable. Of course, this doesn't mean you still shouldn't put on sunscreen as Anthony and I found out, but at least you're not drenched in sweat and feeling disgusting.

We stayed at the Westin Aruba, home of the Heavenly Bed and Heavenly Bath, and 5 years ago this is where we stayed on our honeymoon only it was the Wyndham Aruba at that time. We had impeccable service, amazing meals at their restaurants and a beautiful private beach. Anthony and I rented a jeep one afternoon and drove around the island (which doesn't take too much time since it is only about 20 miles long and 7 miles wide), but we spent 4 hours driving around and taking in the scenery, making the occasional photo-op stop and breathing in the rich island air.

Everything about this island is inviting...rest and relaxation by the pool or beach, an abundance of great restaurants, breathtaking views at every angle and warm hospitality. Aruba is perfection to us and we await anxiously for our next trip to this happy little island!

  2. We are very happy that you went back to Aruba for your second honeymoon .... first because we got to have Sofia for the whole time which we really enjoyed and also because it is great to remember, to share, to revisit, like Mom and I have done, the places we stayed on our honeymoon ... it is something good, intimate, and rewarding that only a couple can share ... may you celebrate may more honeymoons ... who knows next time you go we might have not only Sofia to watch but perhaps also her little brother or sister ....

    Love always

    Dad
