Do-It-Yourself Babyfood

I have been making Sofia's food from the beginning and she seems to be doing really well with it (a.k.a. packing on the pounds)! Very simple and little time involved, totally cost effective and we know exactly what's going in her tummy.

Here's an example of one of the many foods I've made so far:

Fresh sweet potatoes - peeled, cubed and steamed, baked or boiled

Once cooled, pureed in my Cuisinart Mini-Prep Food Processor (also perfect for salsas, pestos and dips)

I then spoon the pureed potatoes into an ice cube tray to freeze.

Once frozen through, I pop them out and place in a freezer bag to store in the freezer for whenever I need one or two. Make sure to label the bag with contents and date as some foods tend to look the same!

Our very happy eater!

  1. You must be a great cook to get a reaction like that from pureed sweet potatoes.
