Blooming in DC - Cherry Blossom Festival

While in Maryland visiting the family this past weekend, Anthony and I took the girls into Washington DC for the blooming of the cherry blossoms. Despite overcast skies and a slight chill in the air, we had the best morning. We parked by the Jefferson Memorial, which is one of my favorites, and walked around down by the water taking it all in - and there was A LOT to take in too!

The girls had a great time running around the memorial steps, people (and dog) watching, seeing the planes fly right overhead and just taking in the gorgeous scenery of the cherry blossoms in full bloom along the water.

On our drive out of the district, I was a bit reminiscent since I was living and working there when I first met Anthony. Washington DC is hands-down a favorite city with so much to offer. Hopefully we make it a point to bring the girls back often to check out more of the town since it has such a special place in our life.
