Christmas is put away

It's always bittersweet to me to put the Christmas decorations away each year. We go full steam ahead for a little over a month with fun Christmas experiences, decorating, crafting and baking and then BAM! all done. The girls are in full Christmas mode for 30 plus days (we celebrate the Epiphany too) and I love that they join in wanting Christmas music on 24/7, baking, crafting and decorating right along with me. Not to mention the holiday shows that must be watched too.

Mario was a big help un-decorating since he already became awesome at taking ornaments OFF the tree in December. He was more than happy to help snatch those little plastic bulbs right off the tree. I'm going to miss sitting by the tree with him, reading Christmas stories and watching his face light up to the twinkling lights. Going to miss hearing the girls sing along to "Jingle Bells" and "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" Now, time to put it all away. The house looks so empty without all the decorations but it's also nice to have a clean-ish slate to start off the new year with too.  More holidays to look forward to along with lots of birthday celebrations too. I have a little girl turning 8 this Spring and another turning 6! Yikes!
