On our first full day in Abruzzo, we headed out early in the morning for the weekly Saturday market in Teramo. Teramo is about a 10 minute drive from where Anthony's family is from and that short distance is a constant curve through the hills. With it's own university and a population of over 50,000, Teramo is a big city and it's very common to be walking alongside American tourists and students.
Teramo's market is very large, but selling the usual market ware - anything from shoes, clothes, and purses to kitchen items and plants and tools. Each time we have visited the Teramo mercato, our walk always includes the bread shop for some delicious rosemary foccacia.
