A trip to Gallipoli
Anthony and I spent an incredible afternoon in the coastal town of Gallipoli, just 45 minutes south of Mesagne. Gallipoli, 'beautiful city' in Greek, was once an island and now is connected to the mainland by a long stone bridge. Unless you live in Gallipoli, you are not permitted to drive through by car, so we parked on the mainland and made the beautiful walk over to old city. Going in the afternoon had many advantages for us as most in Italy observe the siesta and close shop to rest up for several hours. We had the tiny streets all to ourselves!

Ciao Gallipoli!
