Sofia had off from school today due to the elections and I had about a million things on my to-do list so we just went for it. Happy to say most of the things on my list got crossed off too. The girls were great as I hustled them from one errand to the next. Of course, a happy breakfast of heart pancakes (chocolate chip) is always a good way to start the morning...
And the girls are well aware of Mr. Kim at our cleaners and the Dum-Dum lollipops that await our visit. Those lollipops got me through the next 2 stops on our list.
And at the end of our errand running we stopped into our favorite bakery where we picked out a sweet treat. The girls stuck with the usual sugar cookie and Bavarian pretzel while mommy got a delicious red velvet cupcake. We reward ourselves for being productive in the Palumbi home!
The girls are funny about the car wash. They always say they want to go get the car washed but once we're inside, it's another story. They both just stare out the windows in awe and ask when it's going to be over. No tears, just staring and constant questions for the 4 or so minutes that it lasts.
Home for lunch and then for a walk to the polls so mommy could vote. Try explaining voting to a very curious 4-year-old. "Why are you voting?, Who is going to win? What do they do with your vote?" And so on. I don't think I gave very good answers, need to read up on my government literature. Sofia is just going to keep asking away.
But it was a gorgeous day and I think the three of us were just glad to not be going back and forth from the car to a store. Perfect day to walk without a jacket, pick leaves and play at the playground after mommy voted.
I LOVE these pictures of them walking hand-in-hand through the leaves and on the sidewalk. As I'm taking the pictures, my eyes were tearing up. Is it really possible that I have a 4 and 2-year-old? Why does this seemed to have happened overnight? And why is it going so fast? Where is the pause button?
This shadow picture is of Olivia hugging my leg in between going up and down the slide. Love it and love her!
On our way home for Olivia's nap and gear up for the rest of our day. Which involved a lot less running around and more just hanging around.

ReplyDeleteLove the shadow pic, too!
Love how you make all those little things seem so big and beautiful, Lis!
Thanks Em! I had others of Olivia in the car that were even funnier but because I don't do flash well, they came out blurry. But her face was priceless.
