my little girl

Just this past weekend, I was thinking to myself how big Sofia is getting. I mean, she is going to be 3 in March!!! 3? When did that happen? Anthony and I talk about how every stage is something to look forward to because of all the new things they are doing, but this stage right now is awesome. I know the last stage was awesome too as I am sure the next one will be as well, but right now this is incredible for me.

When you talk to her, it's as if you're speaking with a little lady. She said her first word at 6 months (da-da) and she literally hasn't stopped talking since. And she will go on and on (and on) about anything. A great example is when we make the 2-hour drive to my family in Maryland, there is maybe 30 minutes of silence when she's "reading" her books or just looking out the window. Aside from that time, she is talking to us and Mia about everything she sees from the big trucks going by and making loud noises to what the clouds look like in the sky.

The way she explains things, how she sees life through her eyes is just beautiful. She is the one reading the books to us now, from memory naturally but it's so fulfilling to hear her because you know that she's been listening all this time. She sings the ABC's at the top of her lungs and in funny voices, recites little American and Italian nursery rhymes and loves to count everything from the number of raisins on her napkin to the soap bubbles in the bathtub.

Does it sound like I'm bragging a bit? I hope so.
