sweet sunshine
The girls and I enjoyed some down time in the yard yesterday morning just soaking in the beautiful weather. And what a beautiful morning it was too. Sun was shining, birds were chirping and a light breeze made it all the more welcoming. Sofia ran around collecting flower petals to throw to the birds to eat and Olivia played on the blanket near me. It was bliss.
Olivia has not been a fan of the grass and is happy just sitting on the blanket. Until yesterday morning. Sofia was showing her how she puts her hands in the grass and saying "it's not so scary Olivia." Still, Olivia would shriek the minute I tried to put her in the grass itself and I just let it go figuring she will get used to it in her own time.
It didn't take too long before Olivia was inching forward on the blanket to rest her tiny little hands in the soft green grass. The first couple times she jerked them out immediately, but eventually she was just placing her hands right on the grass and not moving them at all. Next she was plucking the tiny blades in her fists and holding them up to me to see. She had a huge smile on her face, looking so proud of herself. There's no rushing this girl, when she's ready she'll dive right in.
