Lions, tigers and bears...oh my!

Now that we're back from Italy and settled, we're attempting to get more into our normal routine. A nice mix of play dates, errand running with the girls, lazy mornings around the house and morning trips too. This week we went to the Please Touch Museum where I purposely left my camera at home and then this morning (well, yesterday morning actually) to the Philadelphia Zoo.

The zoo is a favorite for the girls and we arrived soon after they opened and had a good bit of the sidewalks to ourselves. They oohed over the flamingos, quacked back to the ducks and ahhed at the giraffes stretching their necks to reach their breakfast on the tippy-top of the trees. The otters amazed Sofia while Olivia couldn't wait to get out of the cave-like structure where they're housed. Sofia thought the monkeys smelled and Olivia almost touched a peacock. All in all a great morning.

AND Simon surprised them there too. I only told them he was coming after Zia Paola called to tell me they had parked and then it was a game between Sofia and I who spotted them first. They were excited to see their cousin and spend some time marveling at the animals together.
